2 years and 2 months, what I loved and cherished changed in a blink of a moment...

Standing 5”4 tall focused with a firm foundation instigated by a generation of strong women. We bend but we never break.  Once again I found myself in that moment when having to recognise that worldly goods, and promises is not secure.  Everything can be lost and everything can be replaced.

My mother was born on an island in the great lake in the north of Sweden, cared for by her foster carers for the first few years of her life, with no memories of her birth father or her mother visiting.  Age 3 my grandmother picked her up, heading for a small village close to the mountain chain.   Employed as a housekeeper with an eligible bachelor, known to me as my grandfather.  My grandfather was tall, handsome, kind,  never a harsh word was ever heard from him.  His siblings were equally eloquent and gentle. On our visits to my great auntie, I was  reminded to sit nice and quiet. This is where I first learned, ‘to be most eloquent is to be silent’.  A virtue not always remembered.

Whilst focusing on clearing my generational trauma, I need to remember to claim my generational strength. There are generations of strong women that gave me more than just words. They paved a path, whilst enduring hardships, we stand tall and strong. We might bend but we never break as our foundation is firmly secured.
